What got me enjoying Big Star originally was that they were one of a handful of honky artists on Stax Records, the greatest r&b/soul label ever. Anybody else here like soul music?

Tue, January 27, 2004 - 5:10 PMLOVE the soul! My friend brought me back an brick from the original STAX studios when she went to Memphis last summer... one month later my apt burnt down and I never did find it amidst the rubble... sigh.. everything is transitory, is it not now? -

Re: Stax
Tue, January 27, 2004 - 5:11 PMThird and Sister Lover!?!?! Wow!! Everyone knows their first two albums Big Star and No 1 Record were by far the superior ones... lol kidding! I mean, I do prefer those two and so do 98 % of the Big Star fans I know personally, but it's cool to see someone make the more unique choice...

Re: Stax
Sat, October 20, 2007 - 9:55 AMI have a stax brick with a certificate of authenticity and a little case that I would like give you as a replacement for your lost one. I bought it in a memphis record shop years ago when then were raising money to re-do Stax. It is time to part with this and you seem like the person who could use it. email and let me know if you want it.
